KINGS OF PERSIS. Baydād (Bagadat), early 3rd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.42 g, 8 h), Istakhr (Persepolis). Head of Baydād to right, with short beard, mustache, and earring, wearing kyrbasia with flaps tied behind. Rev. Fire-temple of Ahura-Mazda; to left, Baydād standing right, his hands raised in adoration; to right, standard. Alram 515. Klose & Müseler 2/3 var. (differing reverse legend). Sunrise 560 var. (differing reverse legend). Van't Haaff 515/519c. Rare. Somewhat rough and with light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
